Method for Testing the Cleanliness of Aluminium Profile Processing Parts

How to detect and evaluate the cleanliness of the surface of aluminum profile processing parts, different workpieces have different requirements for performance and reliability because of different cleaning purposes. Therefore, the requirements for cleanliness are also different. The method is also different.


Some contaminants on the workpiece surface can be detected directly, while others are detected by indirect methods. For example, the cleanliness of components and system cavities in machinery is usually determined by indirect methods based on the contamination of the working fluid or process fluid (cleaning fluid) used.


Introduction of detection method:


1. Visual observation of standard aluminum extrusion profiles


If the cleaning is clean or not, it can be observed directly with the naked eye or with a 5x magnifying glass. This is a very simple and convenient method, but it is difficult to judge trace pollutants.


2. Wiping method of standard aluminum extrusion profiles


Wipe the surface of the aluminum profile with white paper, filter paper, and white silk cloth, and use the naked eye to observe the degree of pollution on the white paper, filter paper, and white silk cloth to determine the degree of cleanliness. It is suitable for production sites, but can only be roughly qualitatively judged, and cannot be accurately judged and quantitatively analyzed.


3. Water spray method of standard aluminum extrusion profiles


After cleaning, spray water on the surface of the aluminum profile processed parts of the aluminum extrusion machine to see whether the surface water film is continuous.


Because the metal surface is a hydrophilic surface, if there is no oil pollution, the water will wet the surface well, and the water film is continuous; if it is not cleaned, there is oil pollution on the surface, and the water film will be broken. This is also a method for judging the cleanliness of the production site. This method may affect the judgment if there is residual surfactant on the surface.


4. Contact angle method of standard aluminum extrusion profiles


After the standard aluminum extrusions parts are cleaned, drop a drop of water on the surface, and use a contact angle meter to measure the contact angle of the water film. If the contact angle is large, it means that there is oil pollution and the surface wetting is not good; Indicates that the oil has been washed clean. This needs to be carried out in the laboratory, and the detection is relatively simple, but the tested surface must be representative.


5. Water drop method of standard aluminum extrusion profiles


Drop a drop of water on the surface to be tested at a certain height to detect the diameter of the water droplet on the plane. Large diameter means good wetting and clean oil stains; small diameter means poor wetting and poor cleaning.


Generally, aluminum extrusion profiles are used in mechanical equipment, and there is no particularly high requirement for cleanliness. The above methods are enough to detect the oil pollution of standard aluminum extrusions.
